Team villains except me

Chapter 26 Overlapping the Past

Noah had breakfast with Pete.

Both the pineapple croissant and the milk were hot. Peter held the milk in the glass bottle and drank it while blowing.

Noah glanced at Peter and said nothing.

"Noah, what's wrong with me?"

Peter spoke suddenly, doubts evident in his emerald eyes.

Noah yawned.

"Nothing, just a little sleepy."

Peter snorted, finished his croissant silently, and put the dinner plate and the empty glass bottle together neatly.

Peter walked to the place where the vase had been, but found nothing there.

He turned his head to look at the sleepy mermaid who was still eating breakfast, thought for a moment, and handed the handkerchief in his pocket to Noah.

Noah squinted and looked at the light green handkerchief in Peter's hand suspiciously. The balls on her head were scattered like a half-open fan.

"You have crumbs around your mouth."

Nuoya said "ah", took Peter's handkerchief and said thank you.

Peter shook his head and sat on the chair dangling his legs.

He looked sideways at Noya drinking the milk bit by bit, and leaning back on the chair relaxedly.

"Noya, I like it very much now."

Noah paused for a moment, and his blue eyes regained some clarity.

"Now? Why?"

Peter sighed deliberately, with a deep tone.

"Because now there is free breakfast."

Noah was amused.

"Then which of these three meals is charged?"

"dinner."

"Really? I thought there was no such thing as a free lunch."

The mermaid laughed. Peter, who didn't know what was so funny, looked at the white-haired and blue-eyed mermaid's smile, and showed a very shallow smile.

He spoke softly.

"You sound more correct."

-

When Si Nifeng was wearing a white suit with a yellow rose and was about to knock on Noah's door, Bambai and Peter both opened the door.

Eyes met in the air, Si Nifen sneered.

Ban Bai leaned lazily by the door, his tone casual.

"Eat when you eat, what flowers do you bring? The vases are all broken."

"Don't think I don't know, you broke it, Bambai."

Ban Bai sneered and picked out a rose.

He reached out and crushed the petals, throwing them on the ground.

"Sniffin, you are disgusting."

Si NiFan lowered his head and sniffed the bright yellow roses, with a harsh tone.

"So what? Noah likes me."

"She was just being polite."

Peter interrupted suddenly.

His emerald-like pupils were as cold as glacier sunken in a lake.

"She is very polite to everyone, and she doesn't have any special thoughts about you."

Si NiFan stared at Peter.

With his cruel, emotionless gray eyes.

"I've told my lord a long time ago that a puppet should be obedient... What did she say to you? It made you so—dedicated and exhausted, huh?"

Peter bowed his head stiffly.

His fingers were trembling with fear.

"Don't bully children."

Ban Bai spoke lightly, motioning for Peter to go back to the room.

Silence was spreading, overwhelming like the sea.

There were only Bambai and Sniffin in the corridor.

Ban Bai looked up at the white as new ceiling, and after a while, he turned his gaze to Si Nifeng.

He is tired.

A long time ago.

"Sniffin, aren't you tired?"

"Ban Bai, there is no retreat here. Don't be childish."

Si NiFan knocked on Nuoya's door without hesitation.

He hid the yellow roses behind his back and wore a crisp white suit.

If one ignores his gray sly eyes and rebellious lip nails, he is more like a bright priest.

Noah opened the door.

She changed into a lavender mermaid dress.

Si NiFan couldn't help being startled for a moment.

Ban Bai, who was behind the door, saw Si Nifen's dazed expression, turned his head and saw Nuoya through the crack of the door, and was also stunned.

The weather was not clear, but the soft light shone on Noah, and tiny stars shone on her skirt.

The mermaid has unparalleled beauty, and the mermaid in front of her is just at her most splendid age.

Noah turned around.

"I found this in the closet. It seems to be quite formal?"

Si NiFan came back to his senses and replied with a smile.

"It's beautiful."

He handed the yellow rose to Noah like a magic trick.

Nuoya took it in surprise, then turned to Snife and spoke mysteriously.

"I have a gift for you too."

Noah approached Si Nifeng.

Si Nifeng's pupils constricted.

He could feel the sweet taste and beating heartbeat of the fragile mermaid on the opposite side.

He felt a gentle touch on the tip of his ear.

The tips of his ears heated up quickly, and he didn't need to look to know that the red had spread.

Noah took out a brooch from behind his ear.

The ferocious wolf is filled with cotton and has a fluffy woolen appearance, which is more cute than scary.

"Give it to you."

Nuoya held it in both hands, and smiled to show Sniffin the soft fangs of the wolf on the brooch.

Si NiFan opened his mouth, but couldn't say anything. He hesitated for a moment, and finally broke into a nervous smile.

He carefully pinned the brooch on the white suit, and touched the wolf's ear with his fingertips.

He lowered his voice a little.

He said, "Thank you."

Then closed the door.

Ban Bai, who stood blankly at the door for a long time, twisted his hair, wrapped it around his index finger inch by inch, and then spread it out.

He opened the extremely tight cuffs, revealing his scarred arms.

"A gift...I want it too."

Ban Bai murmured in a low voice and smiled wryly.

He dragged his tingling legs back to his room.

-

Noah didn't know about those confrontations outside the door.

Today's lunch is extraordinarily rich, with steak and red wine on the table.

She guessed that this was specially arranged by Si Nifeng.

This was probably a formal date, so she went through the wardrobe and found a dress that was not bad.

Si Nifeng became more at ease again.

He poured red wine for Nuoya in a gentlemanly manner, trying not to look at Nuoya's bright jewel-like eyes and bare white arms.

Flowers were placed on the table again, Nuoya didn't say anything, her smile deepened, but her eyes became colder.

Si Nifen didn't realize that he was telling Noah about his fled days after he escaped from the Grand Duke's mansion.

Nuoya listened carefully, and would be amused by Si Nifen's joking tone from time to time.

But in fact, none of the things that Si Nifeng told was funny, they were all painful and bloody and tearful experiences.

Discrimination, covetousness, use and coaxing of mermaids, bullying and teasing of the weak, and bullying and control of children.

"...Actually, the oatmeal looks almost like a flake of stone, doesn't it? I was so hungry once that I thought the stone on the ground was the oatmeal that was spilled. After biting it for a long time, I found out that someone had painted it."

When Si Nifen said this with a smile, Nuoya couldn't laugh.

Peter, too, she remembered.

starve.

She also felt that feeling, and it was not good.

She sold the pendants left by her parents for bread, clothes, books, furniture...

Until there is only one empty home.

When she lay on the bed with her stomach clutched, she curled up in pain, sweating so cold that she couldn't hear her voice.

So when she found the hidden sugar bowl, she was on the verge of tears.

And when the chocolate candy was stepped on by the neighbor's aunt, she vaguely saw the scene of herself pinching the neighbor's neck until she died.

But she didn't.

She silently watched the neighbor's aunt pointing and cursing, and finally the roots of the crops that were about to mature in their house froze at night.

When the crops in the town are all ripe, only the neighbor's field is withered grass leaves, and the child who stole the chocolate candy is crying for food.

Scolding and crying became her revenge song, and she was satisfied without eating that night.

She doesn't have a choice, so there is a choice.

But if someone had appeared in front of her at that time and offered her food, even scraps—what would have happened to her?

She will definitely accept it, even if there are additional conditions, even if it will be lost forever.

Si NiFan was dumbfounded by Nuo Ya's eyes.

"It's not as serious as you imagined. You haven't experienced it. In fact, hunger is not so unbearable."

Nuoya replaced this topic with what kind of egg tart tastes better.

Noya drank two glasses of wine, and the flush on her cheeks rose, like the sunset glow of spring evening.

Si Nifeng coughed, and after a long time of deliberation, he opened his mouth.

"I just learned that there will be a dance tonight...Noah, can I invite you to a dance?"

Nuoya thought about it seriously, but finally refused.

"I can not dance."

Si Nifeng's face was a little cold.

"……I can teach you."

Nuoya touched her temples, which was a subconscious action when she was in trouble.

"Sniffin, I'm sorry."

She refused very simply, tearing the previous warm atmosphere to pieces.

Si Nifeng also had no reason to stay any longer.

When he opened the door, he suddenly turned around and asked Noah why.

Why did you promise Banbai to go to the ball, but refused to dance with him.

Noah frowned in distress.

"I really can't."

"I can teach you."

Noah smiled.

"Sniffin, there's not enough time."

Si NiFan still persisted.

"A few hours is enough."

Noah shook her head.

"Sniffin, it's too late."

With a livid face, Snife closed the door without looking back.
