[CM] THE CASE

Chapter 91

Hang in there because you know we'll get through this. ——Avril Lavigne

With his hands handcuffed on the table, Jason watched the agent in front of him pack up the files.

He looks very young, but he is not jerky like he just started working, but through the cover of his hair, he can feel a bit restrained. This kind of restraint may be his nature, but it is not common among federal agents.

Emily pushed open the door first, and called him back: "Reid."

Jason raised his eyebrows and said, "Wait."

This was the first time he had spoken out on his own initiative, and Reid stopped walking towards the door and glanced back at him.

Jason looked at him from the bottom up, but he didn't look down at all, as if he was in control of everything in the interrogation room: "I want to talk to you alone."

Emily asked Reid's opinion with her eyes, and the young man nodded at her as he tightened and relaxed his five fingers grasping the document.

So Emily came to the monitoring room alone, Gideon and Hotch were there, and the latter made room for her.

Reid put the documents in his hands aside, brushed away the hair that blocked his view, and asked coldly, "What do you want to talk about?"

He was wearing a headset, and he could hear Hotch's instructions in the monitoring room. He stayed only after Hotch agreed. But Hotch can't teach him every word, Reid still needs to rely on himself.

Jason asked an irrelevant question: "Are you Reid?"

Not knowing what he wanted to do, Reid nodded hesitantly.

"I heard Foster talk about you." Jason smiled and said, "Well, it was you."

Griffith definitely couldn't have mentioned Reid when he was talking to him. Reid didn't want to be led by the nose, and forced to ask, "What do you want to say?"

"Whether I say it or not, the result will not change." Jason said slowly, "He will tell you what Foster has experienced, so there is no point in interrogating me. Do you think I am evading punishment? No, no, I I've done everything I want to do, but unfortunately the person I care about the most can't come to accompany me—that's not necessarily true, is it?"

He slowly revealed a black smile.

Gideon's eyes turned cold.He suddenly rushed out of the monitoring room, knocked open the door of the interrogation room, and slapped the metal table in the interrogation room: "What did you do!"

Jason laughed out loud.

Reid felt a chill creep up his spine and he stood up as if he saw a devil.

In the monitoring room, Hotch's cell phone rang.

"Hotch!" JJ breathed heavily and flustered on the phone, "The little girl woke up, she... She pointed out that Griffith abused her, more than that, CSI dug up four girls' bodies in the backyard, the murder weapon was found in the basement Surgical instruments, all have Griffith's fingerprints!"

Hotch's expression changed.

As soon as Morgan walked out of the ward, he saw a team of detectives approaching with serious expressions.

The visitor was not kind, so Morgan retreated into the ward and stayed by Griffith's bedside. Griffith didn't know why he went and came back, and called him, "Morgan?"

"Shh, something's wrong." Morgan pressed on his shoulder, "Don't panic."

As soon as he finished speaking, the strange team of detectives walked to the door of the ward. The leader showed his ID and said word by word: "Foster Griffith, you are suspected of murdering four young girls and need to be investigated."

Lucy is lying in the children's ward.

Her small body was wrapped under a thick quilt, and she looked extraordinarily slender, with a pair of wet eyes open, with a lovely and pitiful look.

The nurse whispered to JJ about her situation: "It's mainly caused by malnutrition, and there is a little anemia. There are marks on her legs, and I don't know who is so crazy. That is, the federal agent she mentioned? Sigh, what about this kind of person..." When she said this, she suddenly realized that the opposite party was also an agent, smiled awkwardly, and stopped talking.

JJ pretended not to hear, waiting for Emily.

Accompanied by Lucy's guardian, they will ask Lucy about the details of the case.

Lucy has been missing for half a year, and she was finally found. Her parents were inseparable, and her mother was in tears.I heard that a detective abused their daughter, and even started to hate JJ and the others.

JJ sat on the edge of her bed and asked softly, "How are you feeling today?"

Lucy said obediently: "It's much better."

"Then, can you tell your sister what happened again?"

Lucy glanced at her mother subconsciously: "I, I said it yesterday."

Lucy's mother said coldly: "Lucy already spoke in great detail yesterday."

JJ was unmoved: "We need to check some things again, please understand."

Lucy's mother touched her daughter's hair and comforted her: "Listen to my sister, mother is here, don't be afraid."

The girl flinched, as if trying to avoid her touch.

Lucy's mother's eyes darkened for a moment as her husband put his arms around her.

"I remember, I was locked in a room with a lot of girls." Lucy whispered, "We didn't eat, and people were crying every day. Sometimes people were taken away, but they didn't come back."

"If she cried too much, the guards would beat her and drag her on the ground by her hair. I saw a girl being dragged away and not coming back... The older children said she died."

"Then one day, another girl and I were taken away. We were taken to a room, wearing beautiful dresses, and then many uncles came in to see us. Then that person came in." Lucy trembled, as if Terrified, "He wore a very strange mask and took a branch."

It should be something like a cane, the girl doesn't know it, only that it hurts when it is drawn on her body.

The girl who was brought out with her was her friend, and the two established a friendship during the days of being together, and the pain caused them to hold each other tightly, like aquatic plants entangled in the bottom of the water.

JJ didn't ask her the details of what happened, just asked: "How do you know that person is him?"

The girl blinked and whispered, "I remember his voice."

Emily frowned.

The sound was weak as proof of identification, but if she insisted that Griffith hold on, it wouldn't be over.

Seeing that there was nothing to ask, JJ and Emily left first. They were walking in the corridor of the hospital, and JJ asked, "What do you think?"

"Griffith didn't do it." Emily said firmly.

"I think so too." JJ sighed, "I just can't figure out why she would suddenly identify Griffith."

"There are only two cases. She lied, or she didn't lie," Emily said. "If she lied, why did she frame someone who saved her life? If she didn't lie, what about Griffith's voice?" thing?"

"The key is that the girl didn't see the face." JJ always had a bad feeling.

This kind of incomplete information is logically only suspicious, unless there is key evidence.According to Griffith's statement, he has been locked in that small house, and the evidence can only be falsified, at most only to the degree of ambiguity, and the opinion of the jury may have played a more important role in the final judgment.

Emily was walking side by side with her, and suddenly found that the people around her stopped abruptly.

"JJ?"

The blond diplomat's face was pale, and his lower lip trembled slightly.

Emily felt that she was not in the right state: "What's wrong with you?"

Then her cell phone rang along with JJ's.

"Back to the game." Hotch sounded very cold, "We're going to interrogate Jason Griffith and John Walker overnight."

Emily hadn't figured out what was going on, so she subconsciously agreed.

JJ's problem seems to be more serious. Her mobile phone kept ringing, and the passing medical staff gave dissatisfied looks, but JJ didn't even have the time to give a sorry look. She could only find a gap between the phone and tell Emily what happened.

"Someone told the media about this," JJ said with a grim expression, "the public opinion has exploded."
